A Family Event: For Danny Cox

It’s hard to hear the story of Danny Cox without feeling much sympathy. It was such a random and tragic accident. Members of the community are searching for ways to bring relief and comfort to Danny and his family. After many suggestions from members of the community, the Fabulous Women have adopted Danny Cox as one of our special causes. One of our own Fabulous Women, Denise Looney, has been kind enough to offer her property, Sova Gardens, as the perfect venue for this event. She and I are organizing the day, but we welcome your suggestions to make the day special for the Cox Family.

The mission of the Fabulous Women is to gather socially and carve out some hope, kindness, and donations for causes that tug at the heart. Danny’s condition will require long term care and costs that are not covered by his health plan. It is our desire to bring loved ones and families from the community together for a fantastic fundraiser. Everybody is welcome, and we encourage you to spread the word.

This event will be a collaboration of love and talent. Hillside Fire has donated their performance to the Cox Family. We will do our best to provide some activities for younger children. If you have any special connections or talents that you would like to share for the day, please let me know (Krista / 799-2153). It is our goal to make this event “Family Friendly.”

You can tell your kids that Comcast SportsNet San Francisco Giants Field Reporter, Amy G. will be there signing autographs!

At a regular “Fabulous Women’s Event” everybody is encouraged to bring an appetizer, a bottle of wine or another beverage of your choice. We would like to stick with this format, so that all of our funds can go toward Danny’s rehabilitation. Danny and his family will be there to enjoy the festivities! Because we expect a large attendance, we suggest that you carpool with friends.

On this day, we would like to have a wonderful raffle. If you have tickets to a show, some cool sports memorabilia, a brand new something still in the box, connections to a restaurant, a gym, a photographer, an artist etc….then I would love to hear from you. All of the proceeds will go straight to Danny.

Directions to Sova Gardens: From Petaluma take NORTH 101. Exit Hwy 116 WEST (towards Sebastopol). Go Left. Continue on Hwy 116 WEST for 2 miles. Sova Gardens will be on the left hand side. Look for the Yellow Water Tower!
